Olivia Dance was born in Oxford and began piano lessons at the age of eight. Performing in festivals, competitions, and concerts during her childhood inspired her to pursue music.

In 2014, Olivia was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Professor Stephen Savage. During her study she was fortunate to be mentored by James Bailleau, Julian Jacobson, Kathryn Stott, Leslie Howard, Phillipe Cassard and Stephen Hough. In 2017, Olivia was awarded the Clifford Hartley Prize for commitment to her studies and subsequently gained her first class BMus (hons) degree in 2018. In 2020, she graduated from the RNCM with an MMus.

Some performance highlights include an appearance at the Wigmore Hall in London performing Mark-Anthony Turnage’s Two Elegies Framing a Shout, a concert of Norwegian song in Bergen, Norway, and a performance at Gloucester Cathedral in conjunction with the Three Choirs Festival.

Olivia currently holds roles at Aura Music Academy, the Joanna García Piano School, is accompanist for Serenata Ladies Choir and Caldicot Male Voice Choir, and is involved with Wye Valley Music’s community engagement schemes, ‘WVM in Mind’ and ‘WVM in Schools’.

Olivia is very grateful to have been supported by an RNCM Bursary and Scholarship during her time at the Royal Northern College of Music.
